Other Help Topics :: what EXACTLY do i have to download?

hey guys,
i downloaded the DSL ISO, version 7.2 or something. i went to nero, clicked on burn ISO, and buned the ISO on the cd.
i reboot my comp, set it to load off the CD, but windows just loaded up. i went to my  clicked on  my computer, i just found the ISO, nothing else. WTF am i doing wrong???

thanks!!

the current version is 0.9.3

if you see only one file on the cd, something like dsl-0.9.3.iso
then you did it wrong

the easy way is to download Burncdcc from
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilities.html

it only burns cd images, so you can't do it wrong
it's a small file
unzip it anywhere and click it to run it

make sure the read verify option is selected and it will check the cd

the disadvantage is, it closes the cd so you can't write any more sessions

59KB?  Yep, I'd call that pretty small!  Looks like it's worthwhile for everyone wanting to burn ISOs from windoze to download - no possible way to burn the ISO in the wrong format.  Might be an idea to list it in the FAQ or something.
It is worthwhile for everyone except dsl users!!!!

DSL can add stuff to a multisession CD including dsls, uci files etc , backup with the filetool.lst and restore at startup, and customise it in ways that other distros don't yet know about.

Dunno, I've never been able to burn an ISO and keep the session open (using Nero 5), it's always been an "all or nothing" for me, I edit the ISO before burning.  And I do lots of testing with RW before I commit to R :)
