Other Help Topics :: can`t boot from usb

Not all USB bios are compatible. Last time I checked there are two standards. OHCI and UHCI

OHCI = Open Host Controller Interface, usually Compaq Computers, SiS, or other not intel machines.

UHCI = Universal Host Controller Interface, usually all Intel and Via systems.

Also, the manufactures of USB devices do not have a standard on the default formatting of the devices.  Usually, I have better luck by not  formating the device and use the method of the bootusb.img as described in the Getting Started->Other Documentation->How/Tos from the Fourm->Booting DamnSmall Linux from USB
