Other Help Topics :: How would I Do this
How would I put say....PXELinux on a 32MB Smart Media Card then Have it apt-get, or wget not sure what PXE uses, the files from my webserver and then boot it? How would I go about doing something like this?
In other words, I need a network install, which is started by a 32MB Smart Media Card. Thanks.
The later versions of frugal have a web install, as well as a file install, no cdrom needed.
The web install wgets the iso from web into ramdisk, then frugally installs to hard drive, CF, or similar.
Thanks, where would I go to get the frugal install? I currently have Mandrake 7.2 on the box I want to get this on, I have the ISO on my windows machine and can I wget it from there? Just wondering how this "frugal install" works. I have had DSL on this box before, and it ran so smooth, and I would like it again, Mandrake is a bit clunky with Gnome on a 200MHz box. I'm planning on running this as a CounterStrike server as I have before. Thanks.
frugal_instal.sh is part of the damnsmall distribution. Maybe that is a catch-22 for you? You should use the latest one from damnsmall-0.7.1 as I am always trying to improve or add features to it.
