Rogue speller...

Changing your desktop/s background is very easy in Linux; if you're using a full Linux distribution.  SuSE, RedHat, Mandrake, etc.  DSL is not a "sissy user" distribution.  It is for a particular purpose- working in a constrained environment.  It does not have all the bells and whistles a full distribution offers for a reason.  DSL is about getting computing functionality in place- pretty pictures may be nice, but add little to the _need_.

Make it work,   <-- DSL is this one!  :)
Make it fast,
Make it pretty.

One of the other main uses of DSL is as an introduction to Linux to people who have never seen or used it before.  Simple scripts to change the background would be tiny, and make newbie life simpler.

DSL works.  DSL is fast.  And with tiny mods, DSL can look damn pretty too - even for "sissy users"
