Other Help Topics :: Perl problems frustrated remastering!!!!

I am trying to install openssl in DSL but it depends on perl. I use DSL 0.6.

after I run dpkg-restore, I cant install perl because of conflicts of perl-base.

Then I use unstable source, I can start to update perl an perl-base to latest. But I met an error:

tar: Couldnt remove old file: Is a directory
dpkg-deb: subprocess tar returned error exit status 1
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archieves/perl-base_5.8.3-2_i386.deb (--unpack):

Can anyone has clues?? THX

Use only unstable source....you must reinstall DSL

Use DSL 0.5.3.1

I resolve it right now. John is right, dont use unstable, just use testing for update perl-base and perl. Now it works.
