Printers :: lpd boot param

using lpd boot parameter I can see the the printing/lpd button pressed, but I cannot print.
Adding the line /usr/sbin/lpd in /opt/bootlocal.sh I can print.

I would suspect that would because your printcap file is not loaded until after the restore.
