Printers :: Printing to XP printer with cups

for the life of me, i cannot do this.

i even installed the right printer driver ( native linux driver ) for my printer. the printer model does show in cups as a printer I can choose. However, each time i send a test page to the printer, it goes off line

What printer are you using? What driver does it use? What kind of connection does it use (usb/serial/parallel)?

Need a little bit more info.

editus: on a second read-through. Is this a networked printer?
