every time i make some changes and i restart i am prompted that i have unsaved extentions in ramdisk save them? ok i know i need to save them but i do not understand what im saving and to where. i have read the file system and application sections of mr.weber's DSL book and im obviously just missing something..any help would be appreciated
You've downloaded myDSL extensions, yes?  The extensions do not remain installed when you reboot, so that check is a way to ask you if you want to move the packages from /tmp (which is in ramdisk) to a permanent location so that when you reboot you can have them reinstalled without the need to download them again.

"What I'm saving" are the compressed archives that are downloaded from the myDSL repository.
"To where" is, i assume, the disk that contains your DSL installation.  I'm not sure about this, though, since i have not used the myDSL gui since this check was added to DSL. It may ask for a target location for all I know.

The DSL book is quickly becoming obsolete, as are many DSL documents.  The rapid release cycle of DSL has often made significant changes to the system. Some docs written several months ago either do not mention features that have been added in the last few releases or perhaps mention features that have been altered since.
