Clear Channel owns the radio station and plans more changes just like the one at KLOL Over the next year, the company will be continuing its plan to increase its number of Spanish language format stations from 18 to as many as 43. That number would represent 3.5% of Clear Channel's 1,200 stations

Looks like a huge storm is brewing compliments of Clear Channel Communications!!!
Here is what happened in Houston already

Did you wake up to Spanish music? Clear Channel has decided to make a format change at Houston expense. Rock 101 KLOL is no longer and we have another Spanish channel to go along with Houston’s other 16 Spanish channels. We need to show Clear Channel that we will not just stand by while a 34-year-old station is removed from the air.

Your town might be next...our reply in Houston is:

We are fixing to go national with our cause, so if you know anyone in the cities affected please send them to our site and we will help them in any way possible start thier own Revolution!!!

Dallas lost KEGL 97.1 the Eagle this summer so that it could become an easy-listening station, and the old easy listening atation became 101.1 - los locos vatos!, or something like that.

my spanish is not so good, nor is my memory, but i think it's the same station (like KISS is freaking EVERYWHERE) that killed your rock station.

damn clearchannel.

Well, right now you can feel that Houston is in a funk...major culture shock to have them gutcheck Rock like they did...

I would have cared less if they "made" another station instead of killing our 34 year old radio station cause it wasnt as hot as it used to be! It was a Houston icon!

Kinda like bulldozing the statue of liberty because she had "to" much corrosion on her and building a taco stand, or a walmart, or whatever (you see my point right)
