Success with both of these, using a remastered 2.1 image and USB-HDD. USB-Zip wouldn't boot with either.

Tested: 512Mb pendrive/128Mb CF card.

To enable USB-HDD boot choose 'Advanced BIOS Features,' then choose 'Hard Disk Boot Priority.' Your USB devices should be listed.
