USB booting :: Must embeded be used for USB thumbdrive?

Hi,
I've just downloaded DSL 2.3 and burned a CD.  Is it possible to install the bootable regular DSL 2.3 on USB thumbdrive instead of the embedded version?

What is the main difference between the regular and embedded versions of DSL?

Thanks.

No. Look in the menu.
We offer USB-HDD and USB-ZIP native installs of DSL.

Embedded has standard DSL plus Qemu virtural machine with scripts and batch files to invoke while running Windows. The embedded version also allows sharing a virtural Qemu harddrive between native and virtual invocations.

Thanks Roberts. Is there any information regarding when to use USB-HDD and when to use USB-ZIP?
Check the boot options in your computer's BIOS. If you only have one of USB-ZIP or USB-HDD, the choice is made for you.

If you have both boot options in the BIOS, try USB-HDD first.

The main thing is to be consistent. If one doesn't work, try the other. But don't try & boot a -ZIP install with -HDD set as the boot option & vice versa.

Thanks Iang. I'll check my bios.
