USB booting :: USB Install Question

Hello,
I ran the Live CD and used the tool to install to a USB stick. I rebooted but this time used a floppy to boot the USB stick instead of CD.

I was just wondering, is it just like booting the Live CD but its a Live USB instead. Or is it actually DSL on the USB stick, meaning its a full operating system that will run from the USB stick as though its a hard drive.

If it is the first option, is there anyway to make it the second option? Because I would hate to have to customize it everytime and download things again and so on.

it's like a live cd, some call it 'frugal'.

install it permanently like to a hard disk? maybe, although i don't
recommend it, you might run out of space, wear out the usb,
and that's just the start of your problems (see hd install section
of forum for a good laugh).

dsl saves your settings to a backup file on a partition of your choice
e.g DSLpanel>Backup/Restore: sda2. So you can re-boot using bootline with restore=/dev/sda2. For more info about the backup
file, read the page that dillo pops out after you load dsl.

yes, the usb stick will be called sda1 or sda2, or something similar.
