USB booting :: Booting from USB still requires a cd?

Topic pretty much says it all....I downloaded the iso file, burned it to a cd, booted into dsl with the cd, and used tools to make a pen drive usb-zip bootable. All went fine until I took the cd out and rebooted the computer, hoping to boot from my thumbdrive. Everything starts ok, it finishes looking for usb devices, and then it starts looking for the dsl cd in the drive. If the cd is present, it will boot...if not, it won't. It also says the /dev/sda2 is invalid. Any ideas?

i think the kernel can't find the usb device. try looking in you bios settings for clues.
