i should mention that sometimes with boot option 'expert' it drops me into a limeted shell with a list of about 15 usable commands.
I also have a Dell Latitude 610 that gets the exact same error message.
I will try the noacpi option next (see former post).
This has happened to me on several different computers and different versions of linux. What hardware incompatibility exists that makes this happen?
