USB booting :: I want my USB Drive Back!
Hey All,
I installed DSL to my USB drive. Windows only sees 50MB. I want to get my 1GB back. I've read other topics on this forum where people have the same problem, but no SIMPLE easy solutions are availible. There should be some sort of warning before you install DSL that you're going to have to jump through hoops to get your drive back. Needless to say, not a painless Linux experience. Anybody with a simple way to get rid of this blight would be helpful. THanks
EDIT: I found the simple way. Load up DSL live cd. Format the flash as HDD instead of Zip. Then just delete the DSL junk when you boot up windows. Excellent!
You sure are an angry little man, ain'tcha?
It is a WINDOWS limitation that prevents multiple partitions from being seen on removable storage. Don't go blaming DSL. Maybe it should be Windows that gives a warning...something like "If you experiment with more powerful tools than Windows, please be aware that they might do something our software doesn't know how to deal with, and expect to have to actually learn about something you can't click".
