USB booting :: Issue with autorestore freezeing (embedded)
I have DSL embedded booting from a USB drive (1GB). I've got every other problem worked out, however when I did the 'Enable APT' recently, it went fine, yet created another issue. Now when I start DSL it hangs on 'Restoring backup files from /mnt/hdb/'. It just stays there, little line spinning forever... It lets me press ctrl+alt+del though. It backs up files (so it says) then it shutsdown. Anyone have ideas other than losing all my stuff? You are appreciated.
How big is your backup data?
What did you include in your backup data?
Are you using the standard smallish 60MB virtual drive for the backup location?
You can always add the norestore option to the append section of the Qemu startup script/batch file. That way you can manually try to see the files in your backup.tar.gz. Possibly restoring that which are good.
First, I wanted to thank you for such a fast reply. Next, as far as backup data and location goes, I don't know. I left anything unknown to me at default, following the instructions from Althack Booting DSL from USB. Obviously I'm new to linux in general, but I'm interested in how the batch file would have something to do with this method. Does Qemu look here for such information even when booting? Also, I could not find backup.tar.gz. Where is this located? Thanks for any assistance in this matter. I apoligize for any ignorance on my part.
