USB booting :: "Operating System Missing"

Hey, I am trying to boot DSL from USB Drive, not inside windows just direct from startup. I followed the directions, downloaded dsl embedded, installed syslinux and  ran "syslinux E:", I changed the boot order for the USB stick to boot first, and now its giving me an error saying Operating System Missing after it boots the USB drive, casuing me to have to reboot, come back on windows, and post this. Any idea why?
there are also other methods to install to a USB drive. did you try booting off the DSL CD and using the install to USB-HDD or USB-ZIP tools?
