USB booting :: Can't find KNOPPIX File system, sorry.

I am booting dsl-embedded from a 128mb usb drive - I have an updated bios and a one year old laptop.

It starts up and then it eventually says "Can't find KNOPPIX file system, sorry."

Thanks you for any help and support!

I found that by switching from a direct port on the computer to going through an unpowered hub (on my keyboard in this case), that my USB key would boot.  (For reference, I have a Dell Precision PWS380, and the port I initially tried to use was one on the front of the computer.)

I haven't tried a powered USB hub, but will do so on another computer later.

I'd rather try with the rear, in-motherboard, usb slots instead of the frontal, pin-powered ones.
Still not working,

Let me start with saying thanks for your help,

I have tried both the side and rear USB ports with no luck.  I expect they are all powered though since I am trying on a Aspire 5100 Laptop.
