USB booting :: Freeze at Check

I suggest to check for a BIOS update for your Dell model:

From googling, it seems to solve such problems with many Dell models - and most of the affected machines seem to be quite recent (2005>).

A DSL user has reported that just using the usb 1.x driver helped (i.e. avoiding the 2.x drivers) helped his installation to boot.

And dells do seem to have buggy bios's, at least from what I have heard.
