USB booting :: Acces local hard drive using DSL on a pendrive

I am not sure if I am posting in the right section?

When using my pendrive i dont have acces to my local hard drive.
It is not detected at boot up.

If some1 have an idea please tell me.

What do you mean? That they do not appear in the mount tool?
That they can't be mounted?

Yup, could be embedded (Qemu) or
need to know about *nix permissions or
could have a sata drive and need to use 2.1b or 4.0 with sata boot option.
