USB booting :: USB boot compatability list
Pretec 256mb usbkey drive is bootable on IBM Thinkpad T41. But I suspect the filesystem that came with the drive has to be changed to a real FAT . read details here

Honestly I dont see too many of these just not working...
next I plan to build my ITX LInux router with the CF card and possibly scrap this old sh*t heap Im running now... honestly I love iptables but do not want to run a 200w power supply just for a ipmasq/firewall
If you want a low-powered linux router, buy a LinkSYS WRT54g and install freely available custom firmware like OpenWRT or sveasoft.
You will then have access to the embedded linux shell commands via ssh and can configure the iptables according to your desires.
And it uses less power than an ITX. However, it has limited RAM and flash storage and any new programs must be compiled from source because the router is not i386 so it will not work with standard IBM PC precompiled software.
