USB booting :: Problem with USB Memory

Hello!

I'm using dsl-embedded on an usb-drive and that works very good. Since my bios doesn't support booting from usb I boot it from a cd when I don't use it embedded in Windows. I would suggest you to buy a usb-drive and try it out. Just remember that dsl-embedded takes up more space. I use a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium 512 and I find it incredible good for DSL.

Have fun,
meo

Meo:

I am new to DSL, but not to *nix.

I am using a Cruzer Titanium 512 also.  I have tried the script for .zip and HDD install from both live CD and embedded locally, versions 1.5 and 2.0.  Have tried it on 3 brands of computer, all of which support USB booting.  DSL will run embedded on the drive, but will not boot.  I have also tried downloading the 5_way.tgz from w/in DSL, and running it there.  It does not mount the drive, and I cannot mount it manually.  PHLAK will run and boot on same drive.  Device is formatted FAT.

Any ideas?
