USB booting :: Auto cheat codes and extensions?
Booting and running DSL off a 512M USB stick. Great stuff.
Can someone please point me to a forum post or documentation page that tells me how to:
- Input my desired cheatcodes automatically;
- Load all the saved extensions (*.dsl) on sda2 in the correct order (I guess ALSA needs this); and, finally,
- Automatically run the "Install ALSA" script?
It'd be great to have all this done automatically, rather than having to do it manually.
Thanks!
P.S. How about a "Damn Big Linux" version that takes up, say, ~300-400M, for those with large USB keys?
1. Edit the syslinux.cfg file and add your cheatcodes to the line for the DEFAULT configuration.
2. Extensions are loaded in alphabetical order based on extension type. So if you want an extension to load last, rename it to begin with zzz_oldname.dsl for example.
3. The Install ALSA script will run automatically if you place alsadebs.dsl and the other required extensions (dsl-dpkg.dsl and gnu-utils.dsl) in the root myDSL directory.
PS: Ke4nt1 has a "Damn Big Linux"-like project for DSL. Contact him here for more info or search the forums.
