USB booting :: BIG HELP!!!!!

ok i cant write dsl on CD

i got a floopy
it said download boot-x.x.x.img  and i did , and i wrte it over the floopy , now i boot from floopy?
if yes,

after i boot from floopy , how will it know that SNOPPIX is in which directory..
