USB booting :: USB DSL + LVM

Hi! I'm thinking of setting up a NAS (network attached storage) machine that will boot up from a USB flash drive (directly or via a floppy) with DSL, using LVM (logical volume manager) to organize a bunch of HDDs. I know that DSL does not come equipped with LVM out-of-the-box, so I'll probably need to install that.

Is that something that can be done? Has anybody had success using LVM with DSL?
