USB booting :: Does bootfloppy-usb from pen drive switch kernels?

When I use the bootfloppy-usb to boot DSL installed on a pen drive, I assume that it at least initially boots the linux2.4 kernel from the pen drive.  Does anyone know whether it switches to the kernel on the pen drive when it boots the pen drive or does it continue to use the kernel from the pen drive?

Forgive me if this is a really dumb question.  I can't help it.  I'm really dumb.

Thanks for the help,

Mike

Like I said, I'm really dumb.

The kernel itself is booted from the boot floppy.

It then connects to the pendrive and continues the booting process.

During the booting process, additional driver modules are loaded from the pendrive, so the pendrive and the boot floppy must have the exact same kernel version or you will get errors or a bad boot.

So if you install to pendrive using DSL version 0.8 through 1.5, you need to use the current boot floppy image file to make your boot floppy disk.

But if you install to pendrive using DSL 2.0RC1 or 2.0RC2, you will need to use the "release candidate" boot floppy image file.
