DSL Embedded :: DSL and Windows 95

I recently obtained a IBM Thinkpad 365XD and was hoping to run DSL on it. The machine runs Windows 95 and has a cdrom that cannot be booted from. I decided to try to run DSL from Windows and downloaded the appropriate files. When I ran dsl-windows.bat I got the error "Cannot find IPHLPAPI.dll." I found a web site that had the file, downloaded, and placed it in c:\windows\system. Upon running dsl-windows.bat again I recieved this message: "The c:\windows\system\iphlpapi.dll file expects a newer version of Windows. Upgrade your Windows version."
I say all that to say this: can DSL run under 95? if so, has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks.

Running it in mswin95 is a good question I cannot answer. I've got 1 computer running dsl next to mswin95, and runnin' very smooth.
You can try to run dsl startup from diskette, and ones booted from there starting up from cd, as I did my setup.

Even if it is possible to run DSL embedded from inside a MSWindows95 operating system, it is not advisable.

Win95 is typically installed on older computers and you really need something like a 1.0GHz+ CPU in order to run Embedded version with usable performance.

To learn more about running inside Windows95 try searching the QEMU forums or google for "QEMU Windows 95"
