DSL Embedded :: Problems installing DSL and Qemu on USB

After reading about running DSL inside of windows from a usb drive (http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/usb-qemu.html), I figured I would give it a try.
So, I fired up a DSL live cd, installed it on my usb drive, extracted the files for Qemu to the drive, and....nothing.  Qemu would load up its sample linux, but I could not get it to load up DSL.
Can anyone point me to a install procedure for dummies?  I am still trying to learn linux, so this is doubly frustrating to me.
Thanks in advance.

dsl-embedded comes pre-configured out-of-the-box for qemu and DSL.
Seems I was doing it the hard way and not paying attention.  I was trying to load up a live cd distro instead of the embedded distro.
I am currently responding from inside a succesful load on my thumb drive, so let me say thank you for pointing out such an obvious thing to me!   :D
