DSL Embedded :: vesa and fbdev ??

I know old hardware like fbdev. However i have a new laptop that can do 1024x768 fine but with dsl when i choose vesa it looks like crap. COlors are messed up etc. With fbdev it works fine.

Why?
The laptop has linux already installed with full X ... so i know it can do it.

i have tried dsl xsetup vga normal etc but whenever i choose vesa it cant do it

It sounds like you're doing Xvesa 1024x768 and 4 bit color.

Try something like 16 or 32 bit color.
