DSL Embedded :: running a mini itx system with DSL
Hi,
I am looking at building a mini ITX system this summer. It all looks pretty straightforward and I am reasonably familiar with DSL after running it from USB for a while. I am planning to purchase the cf card with DSL installed from the DSL store, to save time and support the developers.
My question is - can I have favourite apps saved on a USB stick and have them load up automatically at boot from the USB as the machine boots?
Is this question about DSL Embedded?!
Not really embedded (just the mini-itx store calls the CF on an ide adapter "embedded storage") - more USB... except he's running the CF as a hard disk.
edinburgh_chris: Yes. You can even have them on the CF - wait, no, it's only got 64mb. Well, after you figure out your normal settings and save your filetool.lst, you might be able to get some of the smaller ones on - depending on what you want. The others you can put on a usb key - boot with
dsl mydsl=sda
You can autoload ones in the root, if you don't want them loading but you want them available in the menu, put them in an /optional directory. Or you can just have them on the key, boot normally and use emelfm and the mydsl button to open them. (or mydsl-load on the cli)
