DSL Embedded :: dns problem frugal/qemu

I start frugal and qemu and i can access the network just fine and DNS look up works. I'd downloaded the samba extension. I try to browse the network and see nothing. I then try to access a web site and get DNS failures. Anyone have any idea what might be broken.
