DSL Embedded :: VMWare free VM (sort of)
dsl-embedded.zip, i.e., using Qemu, does not require any software to be installed on the host. It can be boot from winthin Windows from within another Linux host, from a boot floppy, from a cdrom and , if the host computer supports booting from USB. natively from the usb pendrive. Vmplayer requires software to be installed on the host.
Cool, I will try Qemu as well, Linux is interesting, but a bit tricky to learn from scratch. I'll keep reading...
I LOVE this...its my first go at linux...but not my first go at a virtual machine in VMWare Workstation...ive used other things like FreeDOS, ReactOS...BUT THIS BEATS THEM ALL!

Hi, i am installing VMware Player and want to try VMware version of DSL on it. Problem is that none of download link for VMware version of DSL is working. Can anybody give me a working link.
Also I want to ask, in order to install VMware version of DSL, VMware Player is enough or I need to download VMware Workstation/ Server.( I think out of these only VMware player is free).

Player works fine. VMware server is free also. Its good if you want dsl to start automatically when your computer is booted up.
