DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: UPX

I know UPX isnt actually new, but I personally LOVE it! UPX cuts down the size of executables by a lot (i've shaved of 7 mb from a 1 mb program with NO performance deterioration) and does not hinder speed. The site says that it sometimes makes the executable load faster, but I doubt it. I suggest you use UPX to decrease the amount of space DSL uses, that way you can fit in more stuff in 50 MB.

doesn`t DLS use the cloop device like Knoppix??
If so, it`s useless to compress the binary because cloop will
compress the loop file...
