DSL Ideas and Suggestions :: nmap, port detection program?

Is it possibly to add programs that are geared toward securing your network to dsl? I would like to add nmap so i could test my network with just one cd.

I dont know if there is such an idea in someone`s head but i can suggest another version of linux
