How about Pico or Nano? I like those and the nano tiny build is VERY small, easy to add on
yes good idea pico rocks :D and it can be use in console =)

How about all 3? I use all 3, vim isn't that big either.

Vim is actually pretty large when you look at its dependency requirements.  DSL already has three editors + a word processor, I think that's enough.

nVi is a lot smaller than Vim, it is not as feature rich, but not bad.
Zile is a compact EMACS clone.
Nedit is a nice gui editor.

Nano would be redundant.
