Hardware Talk :: Damn Small Machine manual?
OK. My DSM finally arrived yesterday after a long wait exacerbated by FedEx who demanded an inperson signature (OK, I fully understand that) but refused to heed my requests to deliver after 4 when someone would be home or to not load it onto a truck and allow me to pick it up at the distribution point - a mere 20 m inutes.
I opened the box to find a *very* cool looking, impossibly small, computer. The box contained, in addition to the Nano:
- the DSL invoice
- an Allen wrench
- a ribbon cable (looks like for an internal device but where that would go I can't figure)
- 4 mounting screws
- a DVD containing Windows drivers
- a CAUTION single sheet explaining how to remove the plastic protector over the heat-sink bonfing material.
That "caution" sheet also contains the following admonition:
"Before installing any hardware devices, please fully comprehend related information illustrated in user's manual."
Said "user's manual" is conspicuous in its absence.
I believe I may have bought a power cable once that didn't have a user's manual, but pretty much everything else, up to the DSM, has had one.
Should I have received a user's manual in the box? Is there a user's manual online? I would prefer this anyway.
In any case, I went ahead and did the obvious and the DSM works great. I plugged it into the gap between my router and my KVM, turned it on, and "there you go!"
Thanks,
Dave
