Hardware Talk :: ideal dsl system

I would like to run dsl on a laptop that I'm thinking of buying.  What would be good specs for the laptop to have?  DSL is very light, right?  I was hoping to not spend much money on this laptop.
Give us some info

If they system has more than lets say 200Mhz with 64Megs of RAM the system will run like a scalded ape!!!!!

A number of people, myself included, are using Toshiba Satellite Pro 400 CDT series laptops witha great success. Mine is a 480CDT that has a 233mmx, 64MB RAM, a 4GB hard drive. It's a very nice laptop with a lot of great features and sold for around $2500 in it's day. Now you can pick one up on ebay for less than $200.
my dad gave me a Toshiba 2595CDT with a "trashed" hard drive that had been running win98. booted up the DSL livecd, doctored up the hard drive using the linux disk tools, and now I have a rip-roaring DSL system. well, will be rip roaring when i get the damn wireless working.....But this little system is MUCH faster than my Dell Inspiron 5100 running XP.

FYI, if it has PCMCIA, then there are several good wireless systems available. I'm using an AT&T 6700g card that works great with the madwifi drivers.
