After about a year of very dependable operation my barebones machine power supply died an untimely death. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

I am not talking about the external brick but the internal circuit board

I've been searching for cheap versions of these for years but they tend to be rather expensive. I coudn't find any
DIY diagrams either.
ITX cases generally use a switcher for power which is what you have...you can get power supplies for it online, they have some at logic supply:
