It was not a joke. It was a news headline that spread all over the net.
I got waves of disgust too when reading that..Actually I was referring more to the way in which you worded your comment, 'Gladly this wasn't targeted to "poor" countries', as if wanting to see Shows was a disgusting trait that doesn't plague teenagers in wealthy societies. I can see it maybe being said as an off-color joke, but that's not the way it appeared to me.
In any case, I don't find their behavior surprising. 93.987% of the internet is Shows (not a real statistic, just hyperbole), and many people, especially teenagers, are preoccupied with sex.Excerpt from Report by Org to the Planet ZYUT:
"The beings that call themselves 'human' have organs called genitals that they use to procreate and excrete waste fluid, which are entirely natural and necessary processes.
However, if a visual record is made of these organs or the act of procreation, the record is called "Showsography' and is subject to a supposed taboo, despite the fact that these records are widely distributed and available, and especially used for self-pleasuring by young males using computers (called 'geeks') who suffer from a lack of frequent access to females for these purposes.
Analyst Zoopg is at a loss to explain why images of natural and healthy acts such as procreation or of humans' own bodies should be taboo, however FRthyg thinks this appears to be related to systematic repression aimed at political control and embuing the human body with artificial levels of psychological power. This power is routinely taken advantage of by some human groups to sell things or manipulate other humans with peculiar emotions called 'guilt' and 'shame'.
Similarly humans elevate some of their number to great social status based almost entirely on their degree of attractiveness. Other humans then feel inferior to these paragons and are thus manipulated by groups in charge of these.
If humans did not keep themselves so ignorant and ashamed of their organs and procreative act, and if the procreative act were more freely regarded, it is clear that this 'Showsography' would have little use.
This is in line with the other strange illogical behaviors we have observed in this dysfunctional species ..."

Heh, well said!Well to get back to the Asus in question.
I realize these are not shipping yet but when someone get the chance to test one with DSL I would really be interested to know the results. Somehow I don't think the OS is going to be as slick and slim as Damn Small. I wonder if all the hardware will work out of the box.
