It shows the tree view, is tidy and easily navigable.  Ctrl-D on any node and I'm looking in a folder.  Sad that it's being buried.

It's not "buried." You can get whichever view you want of any folder if you right click over an icon and select open-structure view (ctrl-s). You can set up dfm to open everything with whichever view(s) you want.

Here's another sneak preview of the new folders with the black themes.

Is anyone interested in JWM for anti-WIMPs?

It most definitely is buried.  If it's not the default action, and the user needs to drill one or more levels down a menu tree, it's buried.

You're right, it's still 'available'.  But not at all convenient.

You're making this desktop more and more difficult for someone new.  The more someone has to discover or learn before they can use your system out of the box, the more likely they are to abandon it.

I hate to see this happening because it makes it very difficult to understand what role this operating system is trying to carve out for itself.  Presently, I expect that all future work will be aimed at development for an elite group and am glad that I learned tolike it when it was more accessable.  I tell my friends to check out 3.4.7 and they wonder why they shouldn't try the latest and greatest.

I think you should keep the elite version as a side-stream and focus on attracting new users with a simple, attractive setup as per the 3.x line.

can we just keep to the topic pls ?
