DSL Tips and Tricks :: Installing DSL on 486 sx 25

I'd found 2 DX2 processors: Am486DX2 and Cx486DX2.
DSL freeze in process of 'Kernel decompressing' at Cyrix processor.... AMD is working.

Do I need to recompile Kernel on Cyrix?

I dunno.

Try googling on Cyrix 486DX2 and linux.

Maybe there is some help out there.

If you just want a web server there are some floppy versions of linux that run on 386 and 486 computers that have web, ftp, dhcp, dns, etc... servers.  Some are designed to run specifically from floppy and some can be installed to a hard drive.  What else do you plan to do with the 486?  You could also use it as a gateway/router if you don't have one already.
