DSL Tips and Tricks :: How can i disable booting penguin logo

How do you replace the logo with a blank one without recompiling the kernel?
If i remember it right its in the boot/isolinux folder the logo16 file.
Google for Isolinux and Knoppix and logo. There is a detailed description on the web how to adapt the format of this file.

If you Video card support VESA, the cute penguin logo will appear when booting without hack the kernel.
How ever, if you boot from a video card that does NOT support VESA, the penguin logo will disappear automatically.

Hi,

do not let us mux up 2 different pcs.
the logo16 is the logo which comes at boot
with the bootoptions (contains the DSL Logo/pinguin).
This can be changed as tould without a recompile.
Search for remaster in this forum.

The linux-pinguin comes during boot is somewhere in deepth
and a also would like to know how to change.

regards
Frank

This is a KNOPPIX thing...perhaps they would know more about how to change it than the DSL developers would
