DSL Tips and Tricks :: Here is how to change DSL boot logo !!

To change the default wallpaper, type this in a Terminal:
wallpaper.lua
or from the fluxbox menu Desktop/Wallpaper.
and then select from the list an image and press install.
if you want to add your own wallpaper to the list, add your images to
/home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds

Hope this helped you:)

sorry to ask stupid question...

because i convert a picture into logo.16 and it wouldnt display when boot up CD....
is there a way to test logo.16 before burn onto the CD?
thanx

i can use identify -verbose image.name to see the image pixel...
now how to change the image to 8bit 26color please????
i tried play with GIMP but no hope...
please help...
thanx

It's probably easier to just edit the original image, though you could probably change the color properties somewhere in gimp or xpaint.
(I'm a bit surprised you could use the ppm/lss tools if it wasnt in 16-bit though, maybe the dimensions have a limitation too)

To test it, emulate it under vmware or something, or put it on a hd frugal installation, before burning it (or a cdrw).
