DSL Tips and Tricks :: A quick guide on compiling XOrg 7.0 on DSL
Hey Juanito, didn't you strip at all? 30mb left at once with strip -g /opt/xorg72/lib/*so*
I'm stripping it right now.. I'll see how small it'll get..
I found a weird symlink: /opt/xorg72/lib/libdrm.so.1 points to /mnt/sdb4/opt/xorg72/lib/libdrm.so.2.3.0
I'll fix that..
I'm shocked you didn't strip at all, there was nearly 200mb in debug symbols!
I also removed Xnest, Xdmx, some fonts not necessary, and the size: 175 -> 27mb!
Should I post this?
I'd honestly never heard of the strip command/function/whatever (or debug symbols) but, yes please post.
I'll look at adding the xorgconfig functionality later
