Apps :: Spyware and Virus Scanners

This is probably in the wrong forum but I have to ask. I plan on working on a buddies computer which has probably been infected with spyware and viruses. I am looking for some scanning software that I can run from DSL via Thumb drive to check his windows based machine. I am curious if anyone has any info or has done this exact thing (having dsl run spyware/virus scan on a windows based machine).

Go get INSERT. It is a DSL-like version of stripped down knoppix that is specifically intended for rescue of computers.

Even better, download the FULL VERSION of the Ultimate Boot CD. It contains a version of INSERT that has some nice Click-and-run Icons for virus scanner software.
