Apps :: Media player
I'm looking for a movie player to run on DSL. Can anyone suggest one? XMMS won't play movies (I'm not too sure if it's even supposted to), and I'm running out of ideas... cna anyone suggest one?
(Note: I'm running a 133 Mhz processor, with 32 megs of RAM, if that matters)
mplayer or xine extensions from the mydsl repository are options, although both will be difficult to use with only 32MB of RAM.
My choice would be to install a DOS swapfile or a Linux swap partition of 64MB and then use mplayer
If mplayer didn't work, try xine
OK, one more question... (This is slightly off topic) How does one compile it? Sorry, I'm a bit of a linux noob...
No compiling necessary, the mydsl packages are either compiled specifically for DSL or taken directly from other pre-compiled packages such as debian packages.

That's all good, but DSL is on my lappy, and I don't have a NIC. I'm using a 128 meg Jumpdrive to get stuff back and forth... slow, but it works... Is it matbe possible to get the extention files, and download them on another computer, and jumpdrive them like that?
