Apps :: Searching for a File Manager like IE or Konquerer

It's the first time I'm using DSL and it's great, but there are a few little things I would like to improve because my grandfather (Windows User like me) will use it.

The KDEs Konquerer would be nearly perfect, so if somebody knows an analog file manager for DSL.... please tell me.

Secondly: I wanna have an link on the desktop to hda7 (opened by the file manager); and if it is possible I would like to have my home file folder in hda7/home.

THX!

Rox file manager is in the extension repository and it's more like IE.

You can put your home directory wherever you'd like, all you need to do is use the boot cheatcode "home=hda7" and as long as there's a hda7/home/dsl directory there it'll be fine.

If there's no home/dsl directory there, it will be created.  As far as I know, it's better to let this happen rather than to just create an empty home/dsl directory on that partition, because it will simply mount that empty directory instead of providing you with all your necessary config files.
Rox Filler is ok - thx plinej

So what is the best way of changing the home directory?

Where is a list of bootcheats, and when/where can I type them in/into?

If you are using the liveCD, press F2 when you see the "boot:" prompt to see a semi-complete list of boot options.
At the boot prompt, you can type in dsl home=hda7 to have it created and mounted as your home.  It will probably still look like /ramdisk/home/dsl in the filesystem, but you can look in /mnt/hda7 to see if your home is shown there as well. If changes to one affect the other, then you know it's working. You will need to enter the boot option every time you boot the liveCD

If you're using frugal instead of liveCD, dsl home=hda7 will need to be added to your bootloader.
