If you have a traditional hard install, you would need to unpack the downloaded xpdf.unc.
In other words, rename it to xpdf.uci and mount it. From there you can copy the files from /opt/xpdf into the "regular" filesystem. For example, if the binary is /opt/xpdf/usr/bin/xpdf, copy it to /usr/bin/xpdfThank you, Robert and Mikshaw. I'm using DSL 3.2, frugal.

The help for the xpdf on the desktop looks the same whether the .unc is in the mydsl directory or in the mydsl/optional directory before booting: It says version 1.00, handles pdf file of the 1.4 kind?
