Net :: Messenger client

Hi people,

I've recently started using dsl 4.4.10 and found that amsn.dsl packages were removed from MyDSL browser. Is there any other place where I can get them? or can it be replaced with any similar client? I've seen tmsnc.tar.gz (text-based client) but I'm not sure if it has any compatibility issues...

amsn was removed cause it couldn't connect anymore to the M$ server, cause it was a too old version.

Thanks, i'll try gaim. I've also found a couple of text-based clients which also work fine with the actual server.
