Back in JWM now do a Right click or Left click on the desktop and you get the Apps,MyDSL,System etc menu which looks and works the same as clicking the DSL button (bottom left) except its up on the desktop (right where you clicked) like the Fluxbox menu. No sign of the original Big Oval ring with the DFM for X11 Options etc menu.

I can repeat this time and time again. Using the restart window manager does not make it fix. Also Ive run it up from USB and have a backup.tar.gz on there. If I Backup and reboot the problem is not present. It goes away unless I run with Fluxbox again.
Hope this is of some use. frankly its a minor issue to me but it might be symptomatic of other WM issues that are worth knowing about.

Once you have returned to JWM right click on one of the icons on the desktop & the DFM menu wil appear. Under the DFM for X11 item you will see the item 'Desktop Context Menu' with a checkbox next to it. Click the checkbox to toggle it & the DFM menu should be back for the desktop right-click.

I have tried to emulate what happened with DSL running in the Innotek VirtualBox emulator on WinXp that I have available at the present & I don't get what you see (the DSl menu appearing for right-click in JWM after switching to & from Fluxbox). I need to use the DFM menu to turn on the applications menu in JWM.

When I do a frugal install and I choose upgrade are u Robert sure that the linux24 and minirt24.gz are eventually upgraded?
Since I'm upgrading from previous 4.0 releases I had to remove the APPS dir in the desktop, cause the new one is called Apps.
Could it be possible to visualize the icon instead of the red X of the windows that are reduced to icons (only some use icons)?

The second post in this thread explains upgrade procedure from RC1 and the files and directories that were changed. Which covers the APPPS to Apps change as the entire .dfmdesk/ directory was changed.

As I explained at the beginning of that post, I had made many changed throughout the system.

While in alpha and RC modes, many changes and default choices are likely to happen. Once 4.0 is released then things should settle down.

Frugal upgrade copies KNOPPIX, linux24 and minirt24.gz.
The bootloader and boot options are not changed.

Moving on to RC3.

Thanks to all for very good feedback and suggestions.
